Watch The Guilty Crafter videos!

I cook poorly, I craft obsessively and I love the look of a retro cocktail. When I am feeling guilty about taking time away from my family with my obsessions, I make videos about my guilt as "The Guilty Crafter" or I blog here. Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Bag Table Settings on AM Northwest

My latest guest appearance on Portland's AM Northwest morning show featured me as a bag lady of sorts. I am getting more and more comfortable making the most basic crafts ever on live TV. I will leave the precision and details to the other craft guests they book. Besides, they seem to think I am funny and have already asked me to come back on next month.  This time, I brought back one of my Thanksgiving favorites- cutting up grocery store paper bags for table settings. It's no-cost and incredibly easy. A perfect craft to task little kids with so they stay out of your hair while you are getting ready for holiday guests.

These links to AM Northwest don't last indefinitely but, for now, you can see my segment here:

Instructions: Cut bags into placemat shapes. Use as placemats.

Can you believe a real morning news show actually invites me in to share this kind of stuff? Me either. But I DO meet the most fascinating people in the green room. This time I met Megan Giller who is the author of Bean-to-Bar: America's Craft Chocolate Revolution. I always confess that I am not a big chocolate fan but she was doing cheese and chocolate pairings on the show and a) interesting and b) she gave me all of the leftover cheese. Score! I can't wait to see who I meet next time. You can find out more about Megan's book here:
